Recruitment drive AND THIS IS RUGBY: CORE VALUES

This season has seen an influx of new players into the senior teams and this has brought new blood into the club to excellent effect. There is a pride in playing for the club and this shows in performances. We will be trying to capitalise upon this in a new publicity and recruitment drive to try to recruit more junior players, especially girls. Please can all associated with the club help to spread the message that we are looking for new players throughout the club; after all our headline messages are JOIN OUR TEAM and we are THE CLUB TO JOIN.

As part of the RFU’s “This is Rugby” campaign  which is designed to promote the Core Values in the game we will be distributing pocket cards as part of our own promotion work.

The Core Values are:

¨ Teamwork: essential to the sport and encompassing our view that Rugby is a game for all shapes and sizes and that all are welcome and play a part in on and off the field.

¨ Respect: forms the basis of our sport.

¨ Enjoyment: is the reason why we play and is the ethos we encourage at our club.

¨ Discipline: this underpins our sport.

¨ Sportsmanship: is the foundation upon which our sport is built

There is also a short DVD which goes with the cards and contains interviews with some past and present players when they emphasise the positive aspect of these values. This DVD can be made available for anyone to view and use to help promote our club in any way.
