This season, 2011-2012, the 1XV play in Yorkshire 1 for the second successive season (after 3 previous successive promotion seasons). The 2XV, aka Castleford Cougars, play in the YRFU Central/North League Division 1 and the 3XV in the YRFU Central/North League Division 2.

We welcome players of all standards, from the true beginner to the experienced, in our Junior section which provides opportunities to play competitive rugby in a supportive team environment. We play most of our matches in the M62 corridor but we do go farther afield to South and East Yorkshire. We are always on the look out for new players.

We have girls’ squads at U13, U15 and U18 levels and our aim is to form a Ladies Section. We do have to travel further to get games but, with an imaginative cluster programme this season, we hope to get more technically proficient, as well as having more match practice, to build on the progress made by our players last year. The highlight then was the day out at the National 7s competition at Lichfield.

Last season the club were awarded the Dennis Cobbold trophy  by the YRFU in recognition of good practice in child safeguarding. We are an accredited RFU Seal of Approval club.
